About the show
The Allegedly Files is a show about the things history misplaced: giants in burial mounds, a book the size of a door, creatures people swear they saw. Each episode reads the real record out loud and lets you decide what it means.
The rules of the file
- Real records only. Newspapers, government reports, manuscripts, museum catalogs. Every episode lists its sources.
- Every image is stamped. RECORD means genuine archival material. RECONSTRUCTION means it was made for the file and is not a photograph of the event. HOAX marks known fakes, shown as exhibits.
- Nothing confirmed. Nothing denied. We present what was filed, and the ordinary explanations too. Then we leave the question with you.
The host
Your host is Al. He has been in the background of every event this office has ever filed, from the 1893 World's Fair onward. His face is on record as a black rectangle. We have asked how that is possible. The question is pending.
The shirts
The show is made by allegedly., an apparel brand for people who read the whole thread. The first drop is coming soon.
